How It Happened
Mia Andrade led the Warriors in the Conference Carolinas Championship. Andrade opened up the tournament by shooting an 80 in the first round. She battled back in the second round as she shot a 77. In the final round of the tournament, Andrade shot an 80 to allow her to finish in a tie for 17th. She finished with a total round score of 237.
Andrade was followed by fellow freshman Caitlyn Gaines. In the first round, Gaines joined Andrade by shooting an 80. Gaines then shot an 81 in the second round. The freshman out of Lexington, SC wrapped up the tournament by shooting a 77 in the final round. Her total round score of 238 allowed her to secure in 19th.
A native of Aiken, SC, Allie Thomas was the next Warrior to finish in the Conference Carolinas Championship. Thomas stroked an 80 in the first round of the championship. In the second round, she went nine over par with an 81. Thomas wrapped up the tournament by shooting a 79 in the final round. She finished with a total round score of 240 to finish in a tie for 20th.
The Warriors fourth finisher in the championship was Amelia Alonso. Alonso shot an 86 in the first round. She then stroked an 86 in the second round of the tournament. In the final round, Alonso shot an 82 to give her a total round score of 254. She went on to claim 42nd.
Barrett Owens wrapped up the field for Southern Wesleyan. In the first round, Owens shot a 93. Owens joined Caitlyn Gaines and Allie Thomas in the second round when she shot an 81. On the third hole in the round, Owens hit a hole in one becoming the first Warrior to do that since Claire Page shot one in 2019. In the final round, Owens shot an 87. Her total round score of 261 allowed her to take 45th.
