How It Happened

The Warriors were first in the board in the debate against the Trojans.  Tristan Tillman led off the first inning by hitting a single to right field.  With Nolan Evatt at bat, a wild pitch allowed Tillman to advance to second base.  Evatt followed by hitting a single to center field to put runners on the corners and bring Ethan Shimmel up to bat.  Shimmel sent the ball into right field for a single that allowed Tillman to come in to score and put Evatt at second base.  Perry Dyer drilled the ball down the right field line for his first double of the game to bring Evatt in to score the Warriors second run.  Kade Bowling was then hit by a pitch to load up the bases for Cole Kirschner.  Kirschner collected a five pitch walk to bring Shimmel in to score and force the Trojans to go to the bullpen.  Luke Taylor hit into a fielder's choice, but Dyer was able to come in to score on the play to give the Warriors a 4-0 run lead.

Anderson cut the Warriors lead in half in the bottom of the second inning as a sacrifice fly off the bat of Dom Bello and then a double by Ben Bullard allowed two runs to cross the plate.

Southern Wesleyan regained their four run lead in the top of the third inning.  Perry Dyer led off the inning by sending the ball down the left field line for a double.  Kade Bowling stepped up to the plate and sent the second pitch he saw deep over the right field fence for a two-run home run.

The Warriors continued their attacks in the fifth inning.  With one out, Perry Dyer singled up the middle.  Dyer advanced to third as Cole Kirschner hit a single through the right side of the field.  With runners on the corners, Luke Taylor singled to right field to bring Dyer in to score.

A single off the bat of Braeden Harrison allowed the Trojans third run of the game to come across the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning.

However, the Warriors would not relent as they brought two more runs in to score in the sixth inning.  Tristan Tillman was hit by a pitch and then stole second base to get into scoring position.  A single off the bat of Nolan Evatt brought Tillman in to score.  Evatt then stole second base.  A fielding error at first allowed Ethan Shimmel to reach first and advanced Evatt to third.  With runners on the corners, Perry Dyer hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring Evatt in to score the Warriors final run of the game.

The Trojans brought two more runs in to score in the bottom of the seventh inning off triples by Braeden Harrison and Myles Denter.  However, the Warriors pitching staff prevented the Trojans from plating any more runs to give Southern Wesleyan a 9-5 run victory over Anderson.
