How It Happened
Caitlyn Gaines led the Warriors in their second tournament of the season. Gaines shot a 77 in the first round before shooting a 79 in the second round. In the final round of the tournament, she shot a 75 to give her a total round score of 231 and put her in 42nd.
She was followed by Allie Thomas who finished in a tie for 64th in the tournament, ten strokes behind Gaines. Thomas shot an 82 in round one before coming back to shoot a 76 in the second round of the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invitational. In round three, Thomas shot an 83 for a 241 total round score.
Finishing in a tie for 72nd in the tournament was Amelia Alonzo. Alonzo shot an 86 in the first round. She was able to knock a little bit off in the second round for a score of 81. In the final round of the tournament, she shot a 78 for a total round score of 245.
Right behind Alonzo was Barrett Owens. After shooting an 88 in the first round, Owens shot an 81 in the second round. She wrapped up the tournament with a third round score of 85. She carded a total round score of 254 allowed her to finish in a time of 77th.
In her first collegiate appearance, Victoria Gullo finished in a tie for 86th place. Gullo, a native of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, shot 96 in the first round of the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invitational. She went on to shoot a 90 in the second round an a 91 in the final round for a total round score of 277.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel over to Greensboro, GA to take part in the Newberry Women's Invitational on October 13-14. They will wrap up the fall semester in Inman, SC as they take part in the Converse Fall Invite on October 27-28.
