Milledgeville, GA – Southern Wesleyan took down the Georgia College Bobcats on Wednesday evening in a 49-39 final score.
The Warriors shot 34.6% from the field. Peyton Looky led the team with 12 points while both Kyra Price and Savanna Nicholson following with 11 points each. Of the Warriors 14 assists, Lexie Ransom led the team with four.
Southern Wesleyan pulled down 45 rebounds in the game. DeYana Hayes led the team with 12 boards. Kyra Price picked up a double-double as she had 11 rebounds. Southern Wesleyan had six blocks with Price having three.

How It Happened
The Warriors were the first on the board in the game as Peyton Looky drove to the basket and laid it up into the net. Caroline Beavin hit a jump shot seconds later to tie the game up. Southern Wesleyan and Georgia College battled it out until just before the end of the fourth minute as Kyra Price hit a jump shot.
Southern Wesleyan jumped out early in the second quarter as Emily Gamon stole the ball away and passed it down to Savanna Nicholson. Nicholson got up and knocked down her first three pointer of the night to put the Warriors on the board. The Bobcats answered with a three pointer by Molly Burns. However, the Warriors continued to battle back as Kyra Price put up a jump shot. A jump shot by Peyton Looky allowed the Warriors to extend their lead to four. Georgia College fought back as Burns and Caroline Beavin knocked down back-to-back three pointers. In the final minute, Nicholson laid the ball up into the basket to tie the game up going into the locker room.
The Bobcats came out of the locker room hot as Deshona Gaither put up a jump shot and Molly Burns dropped her third three pointer of the game. The Warriors kept the game within three on a jump shot by Kyra Price. Esther Cole collected a rebounded shot and passed the ball out beyond the arc to Savanna Nicholson who sunk the ball into the net for a three pointer to tie the game back up. Another three pointer by Nicholson allowed the Warriors to take a 29-27 point lead in the final seconds of the third quarter.
Southern Wesleyan maintained the intensity in the fourth quarter as DeYana Hayes hit a jump shot just a minute in. The Bobcats answered with baskets by Deshona Gaither and Nylah Nuri to tie the game up at thirty-one. With just over six minutes on the clock, Lexie Ransom sent the ball out beyond the arc to Peyton Looky. Looky fired off a three pointer to allow the Warriors to regain the lead. A jump shot by Esther Cole kicked off a seven point run for the Warriors where they extended their lead to 43-35. Molly Burns got in another three pointer. However, Southern Wesleyan pushed on as free throws by Looky and Makayla Raines allowed them to take a 49-39 victory over the Bobcats.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to St. Augustine, FL on November 22 as they take on the Flagler Saints at 10:30 am. They will remain on the road on November 25 as they travel to Rome, GA to open up Conference Carolinas action against the Shorter Hawks. The Warriors will then travel to Dahlonega, GA after the Thanksgiving break to take on the University of North Georgia Nighthawks at 1:30 pm on November 29.
