Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the final game of the series against the King Tornado on Monday afternoon in an 8-0 final score.
Cam Mitchem and Gage Shaver were the lone Warriors to pick up hits in the final game of the series. Southern Wesleyan was walked twice and both Mitchem and Jarrett Whitley were hit by pitches.
Jack Dennison started the game on the mound for the Warriors and struck out two batters in 2.2 innings pitched. Gehrig Schreiber, Bryce Metts, Adrian Abad and Ash Faulk all came in to pitch in relief. Schreiber struck out two, and both Metts and Faulk had solo strikeouts.

How It Happened
King charged out of the gates as they scored one in the top of the first inning. The Tornado kept the Warriors from cutting into their lead as Miguel Rosado forced them to fly or ground out. King extended their lead with runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings.
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the bottom of the fourth inning as with one out Jason Culley walked. Cam Mitchem followed with a single to left field to put Culley in scoring position. However, Gage Shaver grounded out to force the double play to end the Warriors attack
King scored again in the top of the ninth inning. Southern Wesleyan challenged again in the bottom of the inning as Gage Shaver hit a single to left field, but the Warriors were unable to bring him in to score as they dropped the final game of the series in an 8-0 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on March 27 as they host the Limestone Saints at 5pm. The Warriors will travel to St. Petersburg, FL on March 29-30 to take on Eckerd College Tritons. They will then travel to Rome, GA to take on the Shorter Hawks on April 2.
