How It Happened

Set One

Coker struck quickly as Breyon Forrest put down a kill and Kendal Boland served up an ace.  They continued to push ahead with kills by Naomi Earl-Reyes and Taylor Hills.  The Warriors thwarted more attacks by the Cobras off blocks by Michaela Andress, Trinity Eichman and Emily Ellis.  They challenged further with kills by Ellis, Megan Gilliland and Gracie Wilson to put them down 13-10.  Another kill by Gracie Wilson allowed the Warriors to stay within three.  The Cobras pushed on as a kill by Hills allowed them to claim the first set 25-15.

Set Two

The Cobras once again took the first points of the set as Breyon Forrest blocked an attack by Micheala Andress to give them an early set two advantage.  However, a kill by Gracie Wilson allowed the Warriors to stay within one point.  Amiyah Spann passed the ball up to Trinity Eichman who laid down a kill to put the Warriors behind the Cobras 8-4.  Kills by Andress and Katie Fulton kept the Warriors within three.  Coker would not relent as Chelsey Blume and Naomi Earl-Reyes put down kills to extend the Cobras lead to seven.  The Cobras took set two in a 25-12 final score.

Set Three

A kill by Breyon Forrest put Coker on the board first in the third set.  Southern Wesleyan challenged as Gracie Wilson put down a kill off a pass from Ashley Sexton.  The Warriors pushed on with kills by Emily Ellis to take a 5-3 point lead.  A kill by Lauren Loveday allowed the Cobras to tie the set, but back-to-back kills by Micheala Andress seconds later allowed the Warriors to regain the lead.  Coker would not relent as kills by Chelsey Blume and Taylor Hills put them on top.  Southern Wesleyan fought back to within three on a block by Megan Gilliland.  The Warriors continued to chip away at the Cobras lead on kills by Gracie Wilson, but Coker went on to take the final set in a 25-20 final.
