Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan's game against the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes was suspended after the 48
th minute of play on Wednesday night after several lightning and weather delays. The game will not be rescheduled, so it will go down as a no-contest for the Warriors and Hurricanes and no statistics collected will count for either team.
Prior to the suspension, the Warriors had collected four shots with two being on goal against the Hurricanes. Both
Tipton Wright and
Feren Nunez took shots on goal.
Bryson Dodd played all forty-eight minutes in goal and recorded eight saves.
The non-conference match-up between Southern Wesleyan and Georgia Southwestern started thirty minutes later than originally scheduled due to a lightning delay prior to warm-ups. Despite the late start, both teams came out strong with shots by
Henry Bautista-Perez for the Warriors and Cole Davison for the Hurricanes. Georgia Southwestern scored in the thirtieth minute off the foot of Maury Ibarra.
Southern Wesleyan will open up Conference Carolinas action on September 11 as they travel to Mount Olive, NC to take on the University of Mount Olive Trojans at 4 p.m. They will then host the Francis Marion Patriots on September 18 at 7:30 p.m. on Childs Field in Central, SC. The Warriors will next travel to Due West, SC on September 21 to take on the Erskine Flying fleet.
