Box Score 2 Augusta, G.A. - Southern Wesleyan fell to the Augusta Jaguars in a doubleheader with 2-0 and 8-0 final scores on Saturday.
The Warriors posted two hits in game one against the Jaguars. Both hits came from Megan New as she also recorded her first double of the season. Delaney Byers had the lone stolen base. Emma Collins pitched six innings for the Warriors, allowing only four hits and striking out 14 batters.
In game two, the Warriors had one hit throughout six innings as Lydia Clanton claimed the lone hit while Emma Collins drew one walk. Makayla Sexton pitched 5.2 innings for the Warriors and gave up only two walks and struck out two batters.

How It Happened
Game One
Megan New led off the top of the second inning with a double to left center. She was unable to advance any further and the Jaguars escaped the inning without allowing any runs. Again in the fourth inning, New posted a single but was left on base once again. Headed into the bottom of the seventh inning the score was still tied a 0-0. The Jaguars would get a base runner with their first batter and the second batter would deliver a homerun shot to center field to score two runs and allow the Jaguars to win, 2-0.
Game Two
In the top of the first inning, Lydia Clanton singled to center field on her first at bat. Emma Collins would follow with a walk, but neither player would advance any further. Augusta had a strong outing in the bottom of the fourth inning, adding six runs on six hits. After holding a comfortable lead over the Warriors, the Jaguars would add two more runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning and would go on to win the game 8-0 due to mercy rule.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will host their Conference Carolinas home opener on March 13 as they take on the King Tornado at 4 and 6 p.m. They will then host the Lees-McRae Bobcats on March 14 at 2 and 4 p.m.
