Men's Tennis Challenges, but Drops Match to Coker

Hartsville, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan fell to the Coker Cobras in a close 4-3 match on Friday afternoon.

How It Happened

In doubles action, the Warriors went 2-1. Sarvesh Maria and Jonas Grasmuck defeated Justus Lehmann and Tim Schroeder in a 6-1 final. Julio Lopes Polesi and Enzo Marcheschi fell to Carlos Pinedo and Walker Long in a 6-2 final. Joseph Olatunji and Fabian Segreda defeated Hunter Horton and Isaac MacMillan in a 6-2 final.

The Warriors went 2-4 in singles action on Friday. Sarvesh Maria defeated Schroeder in a 6-1 and 6-1 final. Jonas Grasmuck challenged, but fell to Lehmann in 6-4 and 6-3 final scores. Enzo Marcheschi also put up a challenge, but fell to Horton 6-2 and 7-5. Joseph Olatunji fell to Pinedo 6-3 and 6-1 and Fabian Segreda fell to MacMillan in 6-2 and 6-0 final scores. Julio Lopes Polesi defeated Long in 6-1 and 6-3 final scores.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will travel to play the Young Harris Mountain Lions on March 7 at 12 p.m. They will then play at Eckerd on March 10 at 2 p.m.
