Warriors Win First Conference Carolinas Match of the Season

Franklin Springs, G.A. - Southern Wesleyan defeated the Emmanuel College Lions in an exciting 4-3 final on Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened

In doubles action, the Warriors went 2-1. Sarvesh Maria and Jonas Grasmuck defeated Thembo Makhanya and Lucas Sasaki in a 7-6 final. Enzo Marcheschi and Julio Lopes Polesi fell in a tight match to Wilfredo Lara and Juan Burgos Torres in a 6-4 final. Fabian Segreda and Joseph Olatunji defeated Juan Carlos Romero and Joan Grosset in a 7-5 final.

Southern Wesleyan went 3-3 in singles action. Sarvesh Maria defeated Thembo Makhanya in 6-3 and 6-3 final scores. Jonas Grasmuck defeated Juan Carlos Romero in 3-6, 6-3, and 6-3 final scores. Enzo Marcheschi challenged, but fell to Wilfredo Lara in 6-4 and 6-3 final scores. Joseph Olatunji fell to Lucas Sasaki in a 6-1 and 6-1 final. Fabian Segreda defeated Hassan Badran 6-3 and 6-3 and Julio Lopes Polesi fell to Jorge Canadas in 7-5 and 6-2 final scores. 

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will hit the road to take on the Coker Cobras on February 28 at 2 p.m. They will then travel to play the Young Harris Mountain Lions on March 7 at 12 p.m.
