Coach Quarandillo says...
"Our first half was very poor. I can honestly say that I was quite disappointed with the way we started the game and continued during the first half. However, I am so thankful for the way they regrouped and came out in the second half. We are a very young team and have a very small roster, and for them to concede four goals in the first half and still be to refocus ad produce a ver strong second half takes heart, grit and maturity. I love my team! The future looks good."
How It Happened
King pushed ahead quickly as Carlos Saavedra scored back-to-back goals to put the Tornado on top 2-0. The Warriors challenged right back as Caleb Compton drilled the ball toward the net, but Cameron Horsfall kept the ball from reaching the back of the net. The Warriors continued to challenge as Jose Rangel and Alex Olson attacked the net, however none of their attempts reach the back of the net. Goals by Nathan Rincon and Ben Delisle put the Tornado on top 4-0 at half.
King's Ben Delisle scored his second goal of the game to give the Tornado a 5-0 advantage over Southern Wesleyan. Southern Wesleyan would not be discouraged as Caleb Compton and Trey Greenwood each took shots on goal, but Cameron Horsfall recovered the ball quickly each time to keep the Warriors off the board. The Warriors continued to attack with shots by Jesus Sosa, Noah Sims and Alex Miner, but the Tornado blocked all of their shots to allow them to win the game 5-0.
