Saints Push Past Warriors

Gaffney, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Limestone Saints in a 5-4 final on Friday afternoon.

"Our men's tennis team competed with grit and integrity today.  We eplayed our hearts out, but came up short.  I couldn't ask for a better effort.  I'm proud of this team and the way we are coming together.  I'm looking forward to our next match."

 

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan took one of the three matches in doubles play.  Urs Widow and Siggy Menel took their match 8-4.  Stan Grzeslo and Sam Bakker challenged in their match, however the Saints came up with a 9-8 victory.

Southern Wesleyand and Limestone split singles action with each team walking away with three victories.  Daniel Bolivar won his sets 6-2 and 6-1.  Both Sam Bakker and Stan Grzeslo forced their matches to three sets.  Bakker won his 5-7, 6-4, and 6-1.  Grzeslo won his 3-6, 6-4 and 10-4.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next return home to take the on the Lees-McRae Bobcats on March 23.
