Box Score Bristol, TN – Southern Wesleyan fell to the King Tornado 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors posted 11 shots and three shots on goal in the loss to the Tornado. Malik Ibrahim led the team with three shots and his shot on goal found the net as the lone goal for the Warriors. Miguel Uribe played all ninety minutes in goal for the Warriors and made seven saves.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan challenged early, but the Tornado defense kept the ball away. King took the first point of the game on a goal by Lucas Lavender off a pass by Jairo Ruiz Caram. The Warriors pressured back. Cale McLarnon shot the ball toward the net and then Grant took a shot that was blocked, but Malik Ibrahim followed through to dribble the ball into the next and tie the game 1-1. Southern Wesleyan continued to pressure with shots by Grant Kiker and Oscar Vanegas, however the King defense kept the ball away from the net. Ben Delisle drove the ball toward the net, but Miguel Uribe deflected the ball to save a second goal and keep the game tied 1-1 at half.
The Tornado and the Warriors fought hard in the second half. King took several shots on goal, but Miguel Uribe got between the ball and the net every time. The Tornado continued to pressure and finally their threats got through as a goal by Carlos Saavedra put King up 2-1. Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by Zack Hargreaves and Malik Ibrahim, but the Tornado blocked both attempts. The Tornado won the game 2-1.

Southern Wesleyan will return to Childs Field on October 20 as they host the North Greenville Crusaders. The Warriors will host Senior Night following the game. The Warriors remain at home on October 23 as they host the Columbia International Rams.
