The men's soccer team defeated Barton College 1-0 in a tightly contested match during Conference Carolinas play today.

The win was SWU's first in the conference and boosted their overall record to 3-4 and 1-2 in the conference.  Barton falls to 2-4-1 and 0-1-1 in the conference.

The Warriors posted 12 shots, five on goal and Barton added 11 shots with three on goal in the match.  Scoreless until the second half, Skyler Mattox found the goal to help secure the win.

Miguel Uribe had three saves in the shutout victory.

SWU will now host Newberry College on September 28 at the friendly confines of Child's Field.
