Box Score CANTON, OHIO- Southern Wesleyan had a .098 hitting percentage in its 3-0 loss to Ohio Dominican in their second game at the Hall of Fame City Challenge.
Paige O'Connor tied for the team lead with ten kills and had one solo block. Sarah Hughey also had ten kills and one solo block. Annika Jones recorded 32 assists and seven digs.
The Panthers (2-0) started off the first set on a 6-1 run. The Warriors (0-2) tied the score twice in the set, but were unable to gain a lead as Ohio Dominican won the set 25-23. The Panthers also won the second set 25-19.
In the third set, neither team was able to gain a substantial advantage. Southern Wesleyan scored two straight points on a kill by Hughey and an attack error by the Panthers to make the score 25-24 and give them set point and a chance to extend the match. Southern Wesleyan was outscored 4-1 the rest of the way to seal the win for the Panthers.
The Warriors will next play Notre Dame (Ohio) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in their third game of the Hall of Fame City Challenge.
