CANTON, OHIO- Southern Wesleyan had a combined 24 serving and receiving errors in its 3-2 loss to Mercyhurst in their first match at the Hall of Fame City Classic.

Katie Anderson led the team with 11 kills and also had 12 digs. Paige O'Connor had ten kills and one block assist. Annika Jones recorded 34 assists, five kills, and four digs.

The Warriors (0-1) took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-22. The Lakers (1-0) took the third and fourth set 25-19 to send the game to the fifth set.

Southern Wesleyan started the fifth set with three straight points. Mercyhurst came back and took a four-point lead with a 10-3 run. The Warriors scored four consecutive points to tie the set at 10 apiece before the Lakers sealed the victory by scoring five consecutive points.
