Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan University (2-2, 0-1) fell to conference opponent Lees-McRae College (1-3, 1-0) by a final score of 5-3, on Saturday evening at Childs Field.
The game saw an offensive output in the first 45 minutes of action, with the Bobcats holding a 4-2 advantage going into intermission.
The Warriors opened the scoring for the early 1-0 lead off an unassisted goal by Christian Taylor for his second goal of the season. LMC answered with two unanswered goals less than six minutes apart, as the visitors took the 2-1 lead.
SWU answered back as Fernando Posada found the back of the net in 22nd minute of action to tie the score at 2 apiece at not even halfway through the first half.
The Bobcats struck again with two unanswered goals in the 27th and 30th minute of play on goals by Pol Vassart and Thomas Deeley. SWU held the 6-5 advantage in shots in the opening half.
The Warriors pulled the score to 4-3 as Sebastian Castro scored from an assist by Michel Herszenhaut in the 77th minute of action, but SWU unfortunately could not find the equalizer, as LMC posted their final goal of the game in the 87th minute for the final tally.
For the game, both teams posted 14 shots and LMC holding a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. SWU goalkeeper Miguel Uribe posted 3 saves in goal.
SWU will host non-conference opponent Bluefield College on Wednesday, September 14th in their next match.
