WILSON, N.C.- Southern Wesleyan's men's tennis team fell 8-1 to Barton.
The Warriors (6-13, 4-5 CC) went 1-5 in singles play and 0-3 in doubles play.
In singles competition, Jake McCartney defeated Camilo Sandoval 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 at the No. 1, Rafael Ruiz Velasco defeated Stan Grzeslo 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2, Daniel Zapata defeated Nick Genest 6-4, 7-6 at the No. 3, Yaxi Pintado defeated Keegan Barkley 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4, Daniel Radu defeated Urs Widow 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 5, and Jesus Gil defeated Harry Reed 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6.
In doubles competition, Gil/Velasco defeated Barkley/Grzeslo 8-3 at the No. 1, McCartney/Pintado defeated Sandoval/Zapata 8-4 at the No. 2, and Genest/Radu defeated Reed/Widow 8-2 at the No. 3.
Southern Wesleyan next travels to Mount Olive tomorrow April 9 for an 11 a.m. match.
