Warriors Defeat Lions in Close Match

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- Southern Wesleyan's men's tennis team defeated Emmanuel 5-4 for their first conference win of the season.

The Warriors (2-9, 1-1 CC) went 4-2 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play.

In singles competition, Camilo Sandoval defeated Brandon Arglin 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1, Stan Grzeslo defeated Lucas Vellozo 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2, Keegan Barkley defeated Lukas Konigs 7-6, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Urs Widow defeated David Forehand 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 6. Enrique Alcacer defeated Daniel Zapata 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 at the No. 3 and Louis Malejlka defeated Harry Reed 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4.

In doubles competition, Sandoval/Zapata defeated Konigs/Malejka 8-4 at the No. 2. Arglin/Forehand defeated Barkley/Grzeslo 8-3 at the No. 1 and Alcacer/Vellozo defeated Widow/Reed 8-7 at the No. 3.

Southern Wesleyan next travels to Erskine March 9 for a 2 p.m. match.
