Oilers Down Warriors

CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan's men's tennis team fell 7-2 against Findlay in the first home match at the Rev. Leroy Cox Tennis Complex.

The Warriors (1-9) went 2-4 in singles play and 0-3 in doubles play.

In singles competition, Harry Reed defeated Trevor Majdalani 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 and Urs Widow defeated Brad Strawser 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 6. John Kidd defeated Camilo Sandoval 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1, Oriol Ferrer defeated Daniel Zapata 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2, Carlos Blanco defeated Stan Grzeslo 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 3, and Reid Wynkoop defeated Keegan Barkley 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 at the No. 5.

In doubles competition, Kidd/Ferrer defeated Barkley/Grzeslo 8-6 at the No. 1, Blanco/Kopylec defeated Sandoval/Zapata 8-5 at the No. 2, and Majdalani/Wynkoop defeated Widow/Reed 8-6 at the No. 3.

Southern Wesleyan next travels to Emmanuel tomorrow March 5 for a 1 p.m. match.
