CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan's men's tennis team defeated Belmont Abbey 5-4.
The Warriors (4-9, 3-1 CC) went 3-3 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles play.
In singles competition, Camilo Sandoval defeated Juan Baez 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 at the No. 1, Daniel Zapata defeated Grant Goldin 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at the No. 3, and Urs Widow defeated Laine Harrett 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 6. James Delaney defeated Stan Grzeslo 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2, Young-Jin Kang defeated Harry Reed 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 4, and Eduardo Escobar defeated Keegan Barkley 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 at the No. 5.
In doubles competition, Sandoval/Zapata defeated Kang/Goldin 8-6 at the No. 2 and Widow/Reed defeated Pardo/Harrett 8-2 at the No. 3. Baez/Delaney defeated Grzeslo/Barkely 8-3 at the No. 1.
Southern Wesleyan next hosts Lees-McRae March 19 at 11 a.m.
