Box Score Warriors score three in win against King University Tornados.
Christian Taylor scored the first goal for the Warriors taking a pass from Skyler Mattox. Taylor's goal was the first for the Warriors in the game. His goal was followed by Sergio Tapia's first goal of the season. The Tornados scored next making the score 2-1.
The Warriors came back from the half ready to continue to prove. Michel Herszenhaut scored his ninth goal of the season with an assist from Marcelo Vargas. Herszenhaut's goal gave the Warriors a 3-1 win over the Tornados.
Miguel Uribe contributed with three saves in the Warrior win and only allowed one goal. Along with Mattox and Vargas, Herszenhaut also received an assist in the match. The Warriors took a total of 12 shots in the game.
"Good win for the program today," Said Head Coach Garrett Bireline on the win tonight. He continued, "King is a tough team that can pose problems. We had a great effort from everyone to contribute and help get a good conference result on the road."
The win brings the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors' record to 8-6 and 4-4 in Conference Carolinas. The King University Tornados become 5-9 for the season and 3-4 in Conference competition.
The Warriors will return home to play the North Greenville University Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. This will be Southern Wesleyan University's Fill the Hill Homecoming weekend.
