Men's Tennis Upended by Limestone 9-0

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's tennis dropped a conference match at Limestone on Monday afternoon, falling to the Saints 9-0.

The Saints took all three doubles matches and swept the singles matches as well. In doubles, the Warriors were unable to get much going with their closest match coming at No. 2 doubles where they lost 8-3. Camilo Sandoval and Matthew Plummer dropped that No. 2 match to Luka Stanec and Lucas Guinski.

In other doubles action it was Gustavo D'Ascenzi and Stefano Soares defeating Keegan Barkley and Loic Delaby at No. 1, 8-2. In the third doubles flight Jacob Chesney and Alex Ballenger lost to Benji Lascari Diaz and Tom Wagemans 8-1.

In singles the Warriors didn't fare a whole lot better as Sandoval lost to D'Ascenzi 6-4, 6-2 at the top singles spot. Down at No. 6 Matthew Plummer lost to Giacomo Campus 6-3, 6-1 while at No. 2 Barkley was upended by Guinski 6-1, 6-2.

Jacob Chesney bounced back after losing the first set 6-0 to Stefano Soares to take three games in the second set but ultimately fell at No. 3 6-0, 6-3. Loic Delaby fell in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to Diaz at No. 4 while Ballenger also was dropped in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 to Wagemans.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, travelling to Lees-McRae for an 11 a.m. first serve.
