Warriors Fall to No. 32 Mount Olive in Home Finale

CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's tennis was unable to hang with #32 Mount Olive on Saturday, falling 9-0 in the Warriors' final home match of the season.

The Trojans took all three doubles matches as the Warriors only managed to win seven games in the three matches. At both No. 1 and No. 3 the Warriors fell 8-3 while the Trojans won 8-1 at No. 2 action.

Things were equally tough for SWU in singles action as the Trojans won all six matches in straight sets. Camilo Sandoval had the best showing at No. 1, falling to Matthew Finnerty 6-4, 6-5. Finnerty is ranked #38 nationally in singles and #9 in the region.

Jacob Chesney also had a strong showing at No. 3, falling 6-4, 6-3 to Lautaro Vazquez. Matthew Plummer played his final home match for the Warriors and hung with Matheus Ribeiro in the first set 6-4 before Ribeiro won 6-1 in the second. The Warriors managed just two game wins between No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

The Warriors will begin a four-match road swing to end the season, first heading to Limestone on Monday for a 1 p.m. first serve.
