CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's tennis dropped a 8-1 decision to Barton on Friday afternoon at Nettles Park.
The Warriors picked up a win at No. 3 singles as Jacob Chesney picked up his 2nd win of the season with a win over Max Leppert. Chesney dropped the first set 6-0 before taking the second 6-5 before Leppert retired.
In the sixth singles flight Matthew Plummer pushed McKennon Griffin to the brink but came up just short, falling in three sets. Plummer took the first set 6-4 before dropping the second in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-2). In the third it was Griffin narrowly winning 11-9.
The Bulldogs claimed all three doubles matches as Plummer and Camilo Sandoval gave Leppert and Genest the toughest test, falling 8-5. Both teams of Keegan Barkley and Loic Delaby as well as Chesney and Alex Ballenger dropped their doubles matches 8-3
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday by hosting Mount Olive at 11 a.m. in their final home match of the season.
