CENTRAL, S.C. – Callie Wayne nearly tossed a no-hitter in game one and Sara Sweatt came through with a walk-off single in game two as the Warriors swept Emmanuel to wrap up the regular season on Thursday night.

The Warriors took game one 4-1 as Wayne was two outs shy of a no-hitter. SWU took game two 6-5 in eight innings as Sweatt delivered the walk-off bases-loaded single to left to give the Warriors the victory.

SWU improves to 23-19 and finishes Conference Carolinas play at 11-7. If the Warriors are looking to secure their first winning season since before 2002 (current records only date back to that year). They finished the 2013 regular season above .500 but fell back below after the postseason.

SWU will now wait on the NCCAA South Regional Tournament field and pairings to be announced before they take the field. The Warriors are tentatively scheduled to host the event May 1-2. As the tournament is set we'll bring you details here at swuathletics.com.

Game One
Callie Wayne tossed 6.1 innings without giving up a hit before Bethany Campbell knocked a high home run just over the left field fence in the seventh. The Lions added another hit before Wayne retired the next two batters to end the game and pick up the complete game victory.

Wayne improves to 6-7 on the season with the win, striking out seven in the process. The Lions only had two batters reach base outside of the two in the seventh inning. Sam Ely reached on a two-out error in the first and was followed by Campbell who received the lone walk by Wayne. After that, Wayne struck out Hayden Bartlett to end the inning and start a streak of 17 in a row set down.

The Warriors jumped on the Lions early, scoring in the first as Lizzie Fela drove in Taylor Fox with a sacrifice fly. Fox led off the inning with a single to center before advancing to third on a pair of wild pitches.

The score stayed 1-0 until the fifth when Ashleigh Wilbur unloaded the bases with a two-out double to left center. Fox, Sara Sweatt and Fela all scored after reaching base on singles of their own before Wilbur's bases clearing hit. Fela and Fox both finished the game with two hits.

Game Two
Sara Sweatt capped the comeback with a single to left to score Hunter Hoskins as the Warriors walked-off with a 6-5 win. Hoskins beat out a bunt for a hit after Natalie Johnson started the inning at second via the international tiebreaker.

After a strikeout, Alyssa Mendoza reached on a fielder's choice as the Lions tried to throw out Johnson at the plate. Fox followed with a hit to load the bases, setting up Sweatt for the game-ending hit. Sweatt finished the game with three hits as she tripled in the third before being lifted for a pinch runner and also singled and scored in the first.

The Warriors again took an early 1-0 lead as Sweatt scored on an RBI single by Wilbur in the first. SWU took a 2-1 lead in the third as Sweatt led off the inning with a triple to center. Allison Barbee drove home pinch runner Amber Donald with a sacrifice fly.

The Lions added a single run in the second and two more in the fourth, tying the game at 3-3 lead. In the bottom of the fourth Allison Parker helped herself with a leadoff single, eventually scoring on Fox's first of two hits in the game.

Emmanuel's Kalen Callaway led off the fifth with a solo home run to right as the Lions grabbed a 4-3 lead. Hunter Hoskins was summoned out of the bullpen and retired nine in a row after giving up a walk to the first batter she faced.

The Warriors needed some magic in the seventh, trailing 4-3 with two outs and no one on. Allison Barbee stepped to the plate and kept hope alive with a single to short. Fela followed with a single of her own, a shot up the middle to move Barbee into scoring position. Wilbur followed with a liner to left as Barbee came in ahead of the throw to tie the game and send it to extras.

Emmanuel pushed across a run in the eighth as Khelsea Salyers came home after starting on second, scoring on a groundout. The Lions nearly scored more as Barbee stopped the momentum with her glove. Emmanuel had runners at first and second with two outs as Linsey Hearn hit a ball up the middle just to the left of the second base bag. Barbee dove and snagged the ball and tapped the bag all in one motion to beat the runner and end the threat, setting the stage for another comeback win.

The Warriors improved to 5-3 in extra-inning games this year and picked up just their second win when trailing after six innings.
