Warriors Fall to No. 21 North Georgia

CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's tennis was no match for No. 21 North Georgia on Tuesday afternoon, falling 9-0 at Nettles Park.

The Warriors were shutout in doubles play, winning just six games in the three matches. Jacob Chesney and Alex Ballenger managed to take three of those at No. 3 against Graham Shaw and Matheus Pineda. Keegan Barkley and Loic Delaby were shutdown at No. 1, playing against the 12th-ranked doubles team of Matheus Guida and Mateus Camasmie, losing 8-1. Also in doubles play it was the Night Hawks' Alexander Reinauer and Tomas Schneider defeating Camilo Sandoval and Matthew Plummer at No. 2, 8-2.

In singles play Sandoval pushed Guida to three sets before falling, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in action against the top singles players on each side. Barkley fell to Julian Schoeller 6-3, 6-1 in second-flighted action. Delaby also claimed four games in his singles match but lost to Schneider at the fourth spot 6-1, 6-3.

The Warriors continue their home stand on Friday and Saturday, first hosting Barton on Friday at 1 p.m.
