Warriors Upended by Crusaders

CLEMSON, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's tennis dropped a league match to North Greenville on Tuesday afternoon, falling 8-1 at Nettles Park.

The Warriors picked up a win at No. 2 doubles as Camilo Sandoval and Matthew Plummer teamed together for the first time this season. The duo defeated Sjors van Eck and Alejandro Torre 8-3. At No. 3 doubles Jacob Chesney and Alex Ballenger were turned back by Marcel Yshikawa and Santiago Robles 8-6. In other doubles action Keegan Barkley and Loic Delaby fell to Jose Gomez and Sergio Filho 8-2.

Sandoval forced a third set in singles play against van Eck at No. 1. Van Eck rebounded after losing the second set to Sandoval 6-0 to win the third 6-1. Van Eck also won the first 6-3. Barkley held strong against Filho at No. 2 action but fell 6-4, 7-5.

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday against No. 21 North Georgia at 2 p.m. at Nettles Park.
