Box Score KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Southern Wesleyan volleyball team capped off a perfect day with a second 3-0 win, this time over Judson University, in the NCCAA National Tournament. SWU is the second seed in the tournament while Judson was the No. 6 seed. With the win the Warriors are now 22-6 on the season.
The Warriors took the match with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-16. Sarah Hughey and Paige O'Connor paced the offense for the second game of the day. Hughey tallied 18 kills and had a .607 hitting percentage while O'Connor tallied eight digs in the win.
Setter Megan Widener had 36 assists, 11 digs, three aces and six kills while junior libero Milica Stamenic had 17 digs and zero reception errors.
Accuracy in the attacking game was a major part of the match as SWU hit .387, .367, and .343 in the sets, respectively, while holding Judson to percentages of .088, .240, and .024.
The Warriors return to action Friday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. against (#3) Colorado Christian in the final match of pool play for Southern Wesleyan. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals and play at either 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening with the championship slated for noon on Saturday.
