Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan volleyball team picked up their second win in less than 24 hours, defeating Pfeiffer in straight sets on Saturday afternoon in front of an energetic homecoming crowd. The Warriors are now 18-6 on the season and 13-2 in Conference Carolinas while Pfeiffer falls to 1-19 overall and 0-14 in conference with the loss.
The Warriors won 25-17, 25-10, 25-19 to win their 10th Conference Carolinas match in straight sets. Southern Wesleyan had a balanced offensive attack with three players recording double digit kills. Sarah Hughey led all players with 13 kills while Paige O'Connor and Katie Anderson added 11 and 10, respectively. Kendall Vallancourt tallied eight kills in the win to help the Warrior offense while senior setter Megan Widener added 37 assists and Milica Stamenic recorded 13 digs.
The Warrior offense had attacking percentages of .464, .517 and .257 on the night while holding the Falcons to percentages of .156, .125 and .188. The stingy Warrior defense also added four blocks in the win.
Southern Wesleyan concludes the regular season Wednesday, Nov. 4 against North Greenville. It will be senior night for Megan Widener, Sarah Hughey, and Courtney O'Brien. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in Tysinger Gymnasium.
