MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan volleyball won their second straight in the conference with a 3-0 sweep of Pfeiffer on Saturday. The Warriors defeated the Falcons 25-9, 25-17, 25-10.
SWU (8-3, 2-0 CC) jumped out to big leads in each set, 11-4 in the first, 8-1 in the second and 10-4 in the third. The Warriors hit a season-high .398 for the match as Pfeiffer hit just .068. The Warriors hit over .400 in two of the three sets including a .438 clip in the third where they racked up 17 of their 40 kills.
Sarah Hughey led the team with 11 kills, her eighth match of 10 or more kills. Four players reached at least six kills including Hughey. Alysia Cruell added eight kills as Jacinta Hoffpauir chipped in with seven and Cherilyn Ramsey added six.
Megan Widener dished out 30 assists and six aces. Ramsey led the team with nine digs as Courtney O'Brien added eight. The Falcons were led by Allison Rosas' six kills.
The Warriors continue their road swing with another conference match at North Greenville on Tuesday followed by a four-match weekend in the Lee University Invitational.
