HARTWELL, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan women's golf improved by five strokes on Tuesday to finish in seventh place at the Emmanuel Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors shot 379 on Monday and dropped that score down to 374 on Tuesday as they leapfrogged Martin Methodist to take seventh. A big reason for the jump from ninth to seventh was due to Cyndi Smith and Callie Brothers.
After shooting a 95 on day one, Smith improved by seven strokes to shot an 88 on Tuesday which was just four strokes behind the day's best round. Likewise, Brothers had a seven shot improvement by carding a 90 on Tuesday after a 97 on Monday. Smith finished in 17th place and Brothers 21st.
SWU finishes out the season at the SSAC Championships on April 21-22 in Montgomery.
