Box Score DAYTON, Tenn. – Cameron Solomon scored nearly half of Southern Wesleyan's 62 points as the Warriors defeated Bryan College 62-56 on Friday night at the Bryan College Classic.
Solomon knocked down five three-pointers to account for half of his made field goals on the night. The guard also scored five points from the free throw line, connecting on just over half of his eight attempts.
The Warriors (7-4) overcame an off night shooting the basketball, connecting on just 38-percent from the floor. SWU held the Lions (3-8) to just 34-percent shooting on the night. Brandon Cole scored a game-high 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting.
Bryan jumped out to a commanding 20-6 lead in the first eight minutes but the Warriors chipped away over the next nine minutes to close to within one at 24-23, embarking on a 17-4 run. But the Lions bumped the lead back to seven at 31-24 to go into halftime.
After two ties the Warriors took the lead for good on a three from Solomon with 11:35 to play to give the Warriors the lead at 41-38. SWU pushed the lead up to 10 with just under five minutes left before Bryan cut it back to two with 2:35 to play.
Terrance Hutchins added 11 points off the bench for the Warriors and Dwayne Bryant pulled down 15 rebounds and chipped in with eight points. Cole added 18 rebounds to go along with his 32 points.
The Warriors will take on Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday at 2 p.m. to conclude play in the Bryan College Classic.
