Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Courtney Williams set a career high with 20 kills as the Warriors held off Faulkner 3-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
Williams hit .350 for the match as SWU (22-9, 9-2 SSAC) struggled a little bit, hitting only .196. The Warriors hit .394 in the third set and not surprisingly that was their most dominant set, winning 25-18. SWU also took the first set, 26-24 before dropping the second 21-25. The Warriors won the fourth 26-24.
Hayley Hoover recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs for the Warriors. Megan Widener joined her with a double-double of her own with 50 assists and 11 digs. Kelsey Deerinwater led all players with 29 digs. Jacinta Hoffpauir was also in double digits in kills with 10. Tori Wanner added 10 digs as the Warriors tallied 83 in the match.
SWU will hit the road for the final time next weekend as they head to Coastal Georgia and Brewton-Parker. The final home match will be against Emmanuel in a Lil' Bronze Peach series match on October 29.
