Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan claimed a 1-0 goal victory over the Pensacola Christian Eagles on Senior Day on Saturday evening.
The Warriors out shot the Eagles 16 to four on Saturday. Five of the Warriors shots were on target in the game. Brody Schroeder had two shots on goal. Josiah Pitts had the lone goal for the Warriors and Oscar Umana had an assist. Luke Bramblett played all ninety minutes in the goal for Southern Wesleyan.

How It Happened
The Warriors charged out of the gate as Mason Councill looked to find the back of the net, but the Eagles' defense saved the ball from finding the net. Southern Wesleyan continued to pepper the net with shots off the feet of Luis Lezama and Aron Bjarki Kristjansson, but Aaron Gamonal was able to prevent the Warriors' attacks from finding the back of the net. After thirty minutes had elapsed, Oscar Umana cleared the ball down the field to Josiah Pitts. Pitts kicked the ball over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
Southern Wesleyan continued to attack the net in the second half as Luis Lezama and Joshua Canaday put up some shots on the net. However, neither of their shots found the back of the goal. With Luke Bramblett pulled out of the net, Justin Loveland put up a shot. Oscar Umana raced to the goal and kicked the ball away from the net to prevent the Eagles from tying the game up. Mason Councill put up another shot, but his shot flew just over the net. With just over twelve minutes left on the clock, Brody Schroeder sent the ball toward the net, but Aaron Gamonal collected the ball to prevent the Warriors from extending on their lead. Southern Wesleyan went on to win the game in a 1-0 final.
What's Next
The Warriors will remain at home on September 30 as they host the Emmanuel Lions at 7pm. They will then travel to Belmont, NC to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on October 3. On October 6, the Warriors will host the Young Harris Mountain Lions on Childs Field at 7pm.
