Ferrum, VA – Southern Wesleyan shut out the Ferrum Panthers on Saturday afternoon in a 1-0 final score.
The Warriors took seven shots with four being on target in the victory over the Panthers. Brody Schroeder had the lone goal of the game for the Warriors. He was assisted by both Sebastian Zumbado and Mason Councill. Jonah Keoughan played all ninety minutes in the goal and had three saves.

How It Happened
Ferrum looked to take an early lead as Luca Oggionni put up a shot on the goal, but Jonah Keoughan knocked the ball away to keep the Panthers off the board. The Warriors countered with a shot by Josiah Pitts, but Michael Arzillo saved the ball from finding the net. Thirty minutes into the half, Sebastian Zumbado passed the ball over to Mason Councill. Councill directed the ball right to Brody Schroeder. Schroeder headed the ball into the goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 advantage.
Southern Wesleyan continued to attack the net in the second half as Leonardo Flores sent the ball toward the net, but Michael Arzillo would not let the Warriors extend on their lead. Eight minutes into the second half, Max LaFramboise put up a shot, but Jonah Keoughan dove on the ball to prevent the Panthers from tying the game up. Luis Lezama put up a shot on the goal, but once again Arzillo was there. The Warriors continued to block each of the Panthers attacks to prevent them from getting on the board and giving Southern Wesleyan a 1-0 victory.
What's Next
The Warriors will return to Central, SC on September 22 as they host the Shorter Hawks on Childs Field at 5:30 pm. They will host Pensacola Christian on September 26 at 5pm. Prior to the game, the Warriors will celebrate their senior class. On September 30, the Warriors will welcome the Emmanuel Lions to Central.
