Due West, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Erskine Flying Fleet in a 1-0 final on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors put up 24 shots compared to the six shots had by the Flying Fleet. Of the 10 shots on goal, both Madison Stanley and Brianna Gonzalez had two shots on goal. Hannah Weidner played all ninety minutes in the goal and had one save.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan challenged early on as Izabel Berlinski and Madison Stanley each put up attacks on the net. However, each of their attacks were collected by Valentina Santana to keep the Warriors from striking first. After twenty minutes of play, Soleil St. Hill got around the defense and got the ball into the net to give the Flying Fleet the early lead. The Warriors continued to challenge as Brynleigh Bennett and Addison Mack put up back-to-back attacks on the goal, but Santana continued to block their shots.
The Warriors continued their attacks on the net as Ella Beasley sent the ball toward the net, but Valentina Santana collected the ball. The Flying Fleet countered as Alexa Harrison and Chloe Brown put up shots, but Hannah Weidner would not let another ball find the net as she knocked away each of their attacks. Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge Erskine, but none of their shots would find the net. They fell to Erskine in a 1-0 final score.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Ferrum, VA on September 19 to take on the Ferrum Panthers at 1pm. They will then return to Childs Field on September 22 as they host the Shorter Hawks at 3pm. Southern Wesleyan will travel to Orangeburg, SC to take on South Carolina State University on September 26.
