Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan picked up a draw against conference rival Barton on Saturday afternoon with a 2-2 final score.
The Warriors took 10 shots with four being on target in the draw against the Bulldogs of Barton. Jacob Zuniga, Sebastian Zumbado and David Leo Lund each took two shots in the game. Southern Wesleyan's goals came off the feet of Zuniga and Lund. Zumbado had the lone assist of the afternoon. Jonah Keoughan played all ninety minutes in the goal and accumulated eight saves.

How It Happened
Barton went on the attack early as Blake Grove got the ball past the Warriors defense and into the net off a cross by Bruno Marques. Southern Wesleyan fought back as Michael Boyle looked to equalize the game, but Devin Agostinelli was able to prevent Boyle's shot from finding the back of the net. With just over ten minutes left in the half, Sebastian Zumbado went to go take a corner kick. Zumbado crossed the ball over to David Leo Lund who sent it into the back of the net for his first collegiate goal to equalize the game at one.
The Bulldogs came back in a vengeance in the second half as Dan Fox and Dan Ivanov each put up shots, but neither of their attacks found the net. Josiah Pitts put up a shot, but Devin Agostinelli was there to thwart his attack. Barton's attacks paid off just over ten minutes into the second half as Dan Fox crossed the ball across the field to Blake Grove who scored to put the Bulldogs back on top. As Jacob Zuniga fired off a shot, it caught the hand of a Bulldog in the box to allow the Warriors to send Zuniga to the penalty mark. Zuniga got the ball into the net for his first collegiate goal to tie the game up once again. Barton increased their intensity as several players put up shots, but Jonah Keoughan and the Warriors back line would not let another goal in to score. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Due West, SC on September 16 to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet at 4:30 pm. They will then hit the road up to Ferrum, VA where they will face the Ferrum Panthers on September 19. On September 22, the Warriors will return to Childs Field as they host the Shorter Hawks.
