Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Young Harris Mountain Lions on Wednesday evening in a 21-1 final score.
The Warriors took 12 shots with nine being on target. Hayley Billings led the team with five shots on the cage while Maree Hernandez followed with two. Trinity Bowman picked up her first collegiate goal.
Southern Wesleyan won seven draws in the game with both Trinity Bowman and Fianna Steves winning three each. The Warriors caused the Mountain Lions to turn the ball over 13 times in the game. Fianna Steves led the team with five caused turnovers. Steves went on to pick up five ground balls in the game. Trinity Bowman and Alexa Simpson each picked up four ground balls.
Amanda Erikson played all sixty minutes in the cage for Southern Wesleyan. Erikson collected seven saves in the game.

How It Happened
Young Harris charged out of the gate as Megan Magill opened up the scoring for the Mountain Lions. The Mountain Lions would not relent as Erika Baalam and Gianna Lemieu each scored to extend their lead to 3-0 with just under twelve minutes left in the first quarter. As the Mountain Lions attempted to clear the ball down the field once again, Trinity Bowman knocked the ball down. Bowman picked up the ball and quickly took the ball all the way to the cage to score her first collegiate goal. Hayley Billings took a couple more shots on the cage, but McKenna Graf were able to knock each of her shots away to prevent Southern Wesleyan from cutting into their lead any further.
The Mountain Lions pushed further ahead as Addison Heiser and Gianna Lemieux each scored. Southern Wesleyan fought back, but Young Harris was there to thwart each of their attempts to clear the ball down the field. Hayley Billings looked to find the back of the cage once again, but McKenna Graf would not let her cut into the Young Harris lead. The Mountain Lions led 10-1 at halftime.
Young Harris continued their attacks as Erika Baalam scored yet another goal. Maree Hernandez put up a couple more shots on the cage, but Alyssa Roenfeld and the Mountain Lions' defense were there each time. Mary Troyer and Addison Heiser each scored to extend Young Harris' lead to 16-1.
Amanda Erikson saved a couple more shots on the cage by Riley Parker to thwart the Mountain Lions' next attack on the net. Southern Wesleyan answered with attacks of their own as Hayley Billings and Alexa Simpson each put up shots. However, Alyssa Rosenfeld was there each time to block their shots on the cage. The Mountain Lions would not relent as they scored several more times to win the game in a 21-1 final score.

Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the regular season on the road as they travel to Hartsville, SC to take on the Coker Cobras on April 18 at 1pm.
