How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan went on an early attack as Caelyn Little put up a shot on the cage, but Sydney Spelman was able to knock the ball away.  North Greenville answered seconds later as Kami Straub scored the first goal of the game for the Trailblazers.  The Trailblazers would not relent as Judy Rose and Caroline Rider each scored.  Hayley Billings stepped around the defense and fired off a shot, but Spelman was there once again to keep the Warriors off the board.  The Trailblazers scored five more times in the quarter to take an 8-0 goal lead.

North Greenville picked up from where they left off early in the second quarter as Josie Rose got the ball into the back of the cage.  They continued their attacks on the net as Isabella Ortiz put up a shot, but Amanda Erikson was able to knock the ball away.  Fianna Steves looked to put the Warriors on the board as she put up a shot.  However, her shot went just wide to prevent the Warriors from getting on the board.  The Trailblazers persisted as Kami Straub scored off a free position attempt.  With just under five minutes on the clock, Alexa Simpson collected a pass from Caelyn Little and flipped the ball into the cage to put the Warriors on the board.  Straub scored once more to allow the Trailblazers to take a 12-1 goal lead at halftime.

The Trailblazers attacked once again in the third quarter as Isabella Ortiz and Caroline Rider scored back-to-back goals.  Fianna Steves caused Millie Nottingham to turn the ball over and took it down the field.  Steves quickly got the ball over to Caelyn Little who sent it into the back of the cage.  North Greenville would not back down as Josie Rose and Ava Walls scored a couple goals.

Early goals by Mary Regan and Nicoleette D'Alto allowed North Greenville to extend their lead to eighteen.  Southern Wesleyan fought back, but North Greenville answered each of the Warriors attacks.  The Trailblazers went on to score four more times to win the game in a 24-2 final score.
