How It Happened
The Tornado stormed ahead as ten seconds into the game Vodi Mangal scored. They continued their attacks as Mangal and Mia Van Groningen Dack put up shots, but Hannah Weidner was able to defend the goal to prevent King from extending their lead further. Southern Wesleyan fought back as both Madison Stanley and Ella Akerberg attacked the goal, but Susan Schaaf would not let the Warriors shots get through. With just over fifteen minutes left in the half, Paige Thompson netted the second goal of the game for the Tornado.
The Warriors came out quickly in the second half as both Ashley Caballero and Brianna Gonzalez looked to get Southern Wesleyan on the board. However, Susan Schaaf and the Tornado defense continued to defend the goal from every attack the Warriors threw at them. Once more Gonzalez drove to the net, but again Schaaf was there. King looked to capitalize on their attacks as Ella Froehlich and Sadie Carroll put up shots, but Hannah Weidner thwarted their attacks. King went on to win the game in a 2-0 final.
