How It Happened
King was first on the board as, just seven minutes into the first half, Roberto Mariella scored. The Tornado continued their attacks as Jadon Morgan put up a shot, but Jonah Keoughan was there to collect the ball. Senior captain Josiah Pitts looked to find the net, but his shot sailed just wide to prevent the Warriors from getting on the board. Southern Wesleyan continued to fight as Michael Boyle looked to find the back of the net, but his shot also just missed the goal.
The Warriors continued their attacks as Luis Lezama, Oscar Umana and Sebastian Zumbado each went on the offensive. However, Daniel Cavanaugh and the Tornado defense blocked each of the Warriors' attacks on the net. Ramon Estrada wove around the defense, but the rain was coming down so much that his attack was slowed to allow the Tornado to knock it away. Brody Schroeder looked to head the ball into the net, but his shot sailed just a little high to miss the net. King answered with an attack of their own as Julian Salinas crossed the ball over to Jadon Morgan who scored to extend the Tornado's lead to two. King went on to win the game in a 2-0 final.
