How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan came out strong as Sebastian Zumbado and Juan Daniel Rosales attacked the net. However, Harry O'Brien and the Valkyries defense thwarted the Warriors' early attacks in an attempt to gain the lead. The Valkyries answered with several attacks of their own, but Luke Bramblett was there to prevent them from landing. Converse's persistence finally paid off as Guilherme Fontes was able to flick the ball into the net to put the Valkyries on top sixteen minutes into the first half.
Converse continued to attack the net early in the second half as they scored their second goal of the afternoon this time off the foot of Levi Bankirer. The Warriors challenged the Valkyries' back line as Brody Schroeder and Gabriel Melendez put up shots. Schroeder's shot just missed the net and then Melendez's shot was prevented as Harry O'Brien scooped it up. Dillon Bennett put up a shot of his own, but once again O'Brien was there. A foul in the box led to Matias Garnier stepping up to take a penalty kick. Garnier got the ball into the back of the net for a goal to get the Warriors on the board. However, the Valkyries were able to claim the game in a 2-1 final.
