How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan kicked off the scoring early in the first inning of the game as Jack Dennison led off the game by sending the ball deep over the center field wall for his second home run of the season.  The Warriors were not done as, with two outs, Cam Mitchem came up to the plate and drilled the ball over the left field wall for a solo home run.

The Bears answered in the bottom of the inning as Wainwright and Carricato each put up solo home runs to tie the game up.

Cam Mitchem sent the ball over the left center field wall to allow Southern Wesleyan to regain the lead in the top of the third inning.

However, the lead was short lived as a single by Logan allowed Laskowski to score the tying run for Lenoir-Rhyne in the bottom of the third.

The Bears were not done as a three run home run by Stallings and a solo home run by Willen allowed them to take the lead for the first time in the game.

Southern Wesleyan chipped away at Lenoir-Rhyne's lead in the top of the eighth inning as Gage Shaver came up to the plate with one out.  Shaver sent the ball down the left field line and over the fence for a solo home run to put the Warriors behind the Bears 7-4.

Despite another challenge in the top of the ninth inning, the Warriors could not pass the Bears as they dropped the game in a 7-4 final score.
