Seven Warriors Receive CSC Academic All-District Honors in Soccer

Central, SC - The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Southern Wesleyan was among the schools recognized as seven players were honored on the Academic All-District Teams between both the Men's and Women's soccer programs.  Brody Schroeder, Matias Garnier and Leonardo Flores were recognized on the men's side, while Fianna Steves, Katelyn O'Neill, Karina Pashkovets and Bailey Meyer were recognized on the women's side.

Men's Soccer had three recognized in Brody Schroeder, Matias Garnier and Leonardo Flores.  Schroeder, a junior out of Lawrenceville, GA, is majoring in Exercise Science at Southern Wesleyan.  During the 2025 season, he was second on the team in scoring with four goals over the 13 games he played in.  He was joined by sophomores Matias Garnier and Leonardo Flores.  Garnier, who came to Central, SC via San Jose, Costa Rica, is majoring in Business Administration at Southern Wesleyan.  A defender, Garnier led the Warriors in scoring during their 2025 campaign as he had eight goals and two assists.  Flores started in 14 of the 15 games he played in during his sophomore season.  A Business Administration major, the native of Monterrey, Mexico scored four goals and one assist during the season.

On the women's side, four Warriors were honored in Fianna Steves, Katelyn O'Neill, Karina Pashkovets and Bailey Meyer.  Karina Pashkovets, a junior defender, is majoring in Exercise Science.  She led the Warriors in scoring in 2025 as she had five goals including going 2-2 in penalty kicks.  Sophomore Bailey Meyer, a native of New Port Richey, FL who is majoring in Organizational Leadership, scored two goals and had one assist in her second season with the Warriors.  Seniors Fianna Steves and Katelyn O'Neill were also recognized on the Academic All-District Team.  Steves scored one goal and had one assist in her final season with the Warriors.  O'Neill started in 15 of the 16 games she played in in the goal where she accumulated 75 saves while posting a .721 save percentage.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 16, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
