How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan went on the attack first as Jessie Parrott drove to the net and sent the ball in, but Ana Ramirez-Cortes blocked Parrott's attack from finding the back of the net.  The Lions answered as Antoinette Burwell collected the ball off a pass from Sophie Valeruz and got the ball into the net to give Emmanuel the lead after seven minutes had expired on the clock.  The Warriors fought to tie the game up as Bailey Meyer and Ashley Caballero each put up shots.  However, each of their attacks were thwarted by the Lions' defense.  A foul in the box allowed Brianna Nguyen to take a penalty kick and extend the Lions lead.  Despite a late attack by Laugane Dion, the Warriors trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Emmanuel continued to put up attacks in the second half as Jillian Aldrich sent the ball toward the net, but Katelyn O'Neill saved the ball from finding the back of the net.  Camila Blanco wove around the defense and attempted to cut into the Lions lead.  However, once again Ana Ramirez-Cortes was there and knocked the ball away.  Emmanuel attacked again as they scored two more goals within a couple minutes.  Southern Wesleyan challenged as Vitallia Benforte and Blanco put up a couple shots.  The Warriors fell to the Lions in a 4-0 final score.
