How It Happened

The Warriors went on the attack first as Dillon Bennett drove to the net and fired off a shot.  However, Owen Emeleus was able to bat the ball away to prevent the Warriors from taking the lead just two minutes into the first half.  Southern Wesleyan continued their attacks as Leonardo Flores, Josiah Pitts and Luis Lezama peppered the goal with shots.  Bennett drove to the net once again, but this time the Flying Fleet back line was there to knock the ball away at the last second.  The game remained tied 0-0 at halftime.

Erskine took a couple early shots in the second half as Aaron Cardoza Paz attempted to give the Flying Fleet the lead.  Southern Wesleyan countered with attacks by Matias Garnier and Gabriel Melendez, but neither of the shots found the net.  John Gonzalez wove around the defense and got in an attack of his own, but once again Owen Emeleus was there to knock the ball away.  Leonardo Flores sent the ball over to Gabriel Melendez who got it up and past the Flying Fleet's goalkeeper into the net to give the Warriors the lead.  The Warriors continued to pressure the Flying Fleet's defense as Sebastian Zumbado looked to extend on the lead.  However, Emeleus was able to collect the ball.  With just ten minutes left on the clock, Sean O'Laughlin cross the ball over to Adolfo Angel Espino who scored to tie the game up.  Despite shots by Francesco Giudice and Randy Mendoza, the game remained a 1-1 draw as the ninety minutes expired.
