How It Happened
The regionally ranked Mountain Lions went on the attack early in the game as Leho Le Louarn sent the ball toward the net, but it just missed the top. The Warriors crossed the ball in and Matias Garnier looked to give Southern Wesleyan the early advantage, but his shot just missed the left side of the net to keep the Warriors from taking the early lead. Young Harris continued to pepper the goal, but Luke Bramblett was able to collect each of the attacks. Another shot by Le Louarn was saved by the Warriors' back line. Leonardo Flores looked to put the Warriors on top with just three minutes left in the half, but James Dee jumped up to knock it out of the top corner of the net to keep the game tied up 0-0 at halftime.
Thomas Kleinpenning put up an early shot on the goal in the second half, but once again Luke Bramblett was there to prevent the Mountain Lions from gaining the lead. However, shortly afterwards a foul in the box by Bramblett allowed Kleinpenning to go to the penalty spot. Kleinpenning was able to get the ball in the net to allow Young Harris to get on the board. The Warriors pressed on as Sebastian Zumbado and Brody Schroeder each put up shots on the net. However, James Dee was able to corral each one to prevent the Warriors from tying the game up. Southern Wesleyan persisted as a foul just past the half allowed Juan Daniel Rosales to take a free kick. Rosales sent the ball deep into the box where Leonardo Flores headed it into the net to allow the Warriors to tie the game up. Southern Wesleyan looked for the lead as Rosales and Schroeder each put up some attacks, but the game finished in a 1-1 draw.
