How It Happened

Chowan went on the attack early as Bradley Williams, Cameron Letterlough and Clayton Verdin all took shots on the goal, but Jonah Keoughan and the Warriors back-line were able to prevent the attacks from finding the net.  The Hawks wouldn't back down as Clayton Verdin and Letterlough each scored within three minutes time to give them a 2-0 goal advantage.  Brody Schroeder drove toward the box and sent a shot into the net.  However, Lucas Kibrya corralled the ball to keep the Warriors from cutting into the Hawks lead.  The Warriors pressed on as Gabriel Melendez got past the defense and sent the ball into the corner of the net to put Southern Wesleyan on the board.

The Hawks continued to attack as Henry Jorge-Garcia and Clayton Verdin put up several shots.  The Warriors were able to thwart their attacks to keep Chowan from extending on their lead.  Cameron Letterlough got another ball into the net to allow them to regain their two goal advantage.  Chowan would not relent as Bradley Binns scored the Hawks' fourth goal of the afternoon.  Southern Wesleyan fought to cut into their lead as Leonardo Flores put up a shot.  However, the Hawks went on to claim a 4-1 goal victory over the Warriors.
