How It Happened

Ella Beasley drove the ball to the net just under nine minutes into the game, but her shot was saved by Railsplitter goalkeeper Bente Latenstein. The Railsplitters would not relent on their attacks, but the Warriors defense stood their ground to keep them from taking the lead. With just under thirty minutes left on the clock, Bailey Meyer sent the ball to the bottom center of the net, but once again Latenstein dove on the ball to prevent Southern Wesleyan from taking the lead. Lincoln Memorial's persistence paid off as the Railsplitters were able to score off a free kick shot by Samantha Hulstaert. Bailey Meyer took another shot on the goal, but Bente Latenstein saved the attack once again.
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the second half with shots by Hannah Kovalcik and Ella Beasley, but the Lincoln Memorial defense block each attack on the net.
